Subsequent Publication: Friday, July 16, 1948 Funeral services for Charles L. Kling who died Tuesday morning at the Route 1 home of his daughter, Mrs. Lee Strachan, were held from the Evangelical church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. The services were conducted by the Rev. O. L. Heltzel of Lake Odessa. His bearers were Vernon Judevine, George Stedman, John Stedman, Arthur Patrick, Fred Grill and Clare Wright. Mrs. Orin Schmidt served as organist and the floral arrangements were in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Stone and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cloud. The Ionia Commandery No. 11, Knights Templar, formed an honorary escort. Masonic burial rites under the auspices of Palo lodge No. 203 were given at Oak Hill cemetery by Charles Reasoner as acting worshipful master. Assisting him were Howard Ransom, senior warden; James Smith, Junior warden; Floyd Hammond, marshal; and William McLaren, chaplain. Those attending the service from away were Mr. and Mrs. Norman I. Weil of New York City; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kling of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. John Kling and daughters of Allentown, Pa.; and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Grettenberger, Herbert Kling, and Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner of Grand Rapids.
