Ionia Sentinel Standard - June 2, 2011


Kathleen Klingbeil, 55, of Sunfield, passed away at home on Monday, May 30, 
2011.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1995, in Aurora, Ill., to Leslie and Eleonore 
Johnson. She grew up in Ionia, where she attended high School and went on to 
earn an associate’s degree from Montcalm Community College. Kathleen loved 
going on cruises, being on a Lake Michigan beach, reading and humorous people.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gary; sister, Christine (James) 
Banhagel of Ionia; sister, Corinne (Charles) Sotzin of Cedartown, Ga.; brother, 
Harry (Angela) Johnson of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews; and her two 
best friends, Chris Yenchar Joyce Vogt, both of Ludington. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and precious young nephew, Cayman 
Frost.

Being childless, Kathleen doted on her nieces and nephews. There was not much 
they could ever do wrong and nothing that she would not do for them. She had a 
heart of gold. 

Kathleen’s wish was to be cremated and to have no service. Family and friends 
will have a remembrance gathering for her in the future.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
