Klingman, 86, of 1016 Lakeview Drive, was dead on arrival at Ionia County Memorial hospital Sunday morning. Born April 17, 1891 in Odessa township, he was a son of Jacob and Nellie (Parker) Klingman, and farmed in the Lake Odessa area until moving to Battle Creek in 1930 where he was employed as a maintenance supervisor at the Central Farmers bank for 15 years, and Consumers Power Co., for ten years until retiring in 1955. He returned to Lake Odessa where he was in the painting business until 1974 and a member of the Calvary United Brethern church. Survivors include his wife, the former Ruby Thomas, whom he married October 22, 1910 in Ionia; one daughter, Mrs. Lester (Leah) Hand, of Battle Creek, fie grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Ray Klingman of Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Ms. Verda Bigelow of Midland, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A son, Voight, and a brother Vernon, preceded him in death. Services will be from Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa at 1:30 pm Wednesday, the Rev. Richard Sessink, officiating. The family will be at the funeral chapel from 7 to 9 pm Monday evening and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary United Brethren church. Burial is in Lakeside cemetery.
