Died at Battle Creek. A promising young man was Voight Klingman who was called away at the age of 18 and one half years last week Tuesday. A young man of exceptional ability, he graduated from the Clarksville high school in June as valedictorian of his class, and was expecting to attend the Battle Creek Business college when he was taken with an infection of the lungs which was incurable and he passed to that bourn from which no traveler ever returns. He was a loyal member of the First Brethren Church of West Odessa and devoted to its interests. The funeral was held in Central Methodist church at Lake Odessa, Rev. P.B. Messner and Rev. Roy McRoberts giving addresses and the singing was by Mrs.Bert Mourer and Fay Allerding accompanied by Mrs.R.I. Humberd. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery. OBITUARY Voight E.Klingman, only son of Mr andMrs Homer Klingman, was born March 25, 1912 near Lake Odessa, Mich, and departed tis life, to be with the Lord, October 21,1930 at the Leila hospital, Battle Creek, Mich. being 18 years, 6 months and 26 days of age. He leaves to mourn his departure, his mother and father and sister Leah; his grandmother Mrs John Heintzelman; grandparents, Mr and Mrs Abram Thomas; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. He was a devoted son and brother and such a patient suffer during all his sickness. Although handicapped he never complained but took it that the Lord, "Doeth all things well." He was loved by all his associates for his jovial disposition and merry smile. At his work and about the house he was always singing or whistling. Voight accepted the Lord as his savior in early life and was baptized and became a member of the First Brethren, west of Lake Odessa. He was a devoted Christian boy, and knowing the joy of salvation, he was diligent in passing out scripture and tracts to others. While confined to his bed of suffering, he called relatives and friends to h is bedside, also wrote letters, urging them all to live closer to the Lord and to heed the admonition in Luke's Gospel to, "Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with the cares of this life, so that day come upon you unawares" Called Away in the Morning There are some to the morning of life, Who are called to their Heavenly Home From the sin, the sorrow, the strife Of this world they never will roam. There are some whose eager youth spring time Is a thrill with the joy of their wrk, And yet from the world's dark paths and grime Are called - from its gloom snd murk. There are some in the morning of life Who seem called away far too soon, From the sin, the sorrow, the strife, "Ere their morning of life reaches noon. O why are they called away from earth. When their task are only begun. When we just begin to guess their worth In the glow of the morning sun? Because of the duties far away In the glorious Land of Dawn. Where the wonderful light in their day. Will shine out as eternal Morn! The God, the Springtime Life Divine Would keep them in heavenly youth. With the dew of their childhood ashine in his pristine beauty and truth, And those who are called in the dawning Are called to service above, Where life is eternally morning In the Land of Springtime and Love!
