The funeral was held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the United Brethren church, conducted by the pastor, J. Edman Edwards. Interment was made in Lakeside cemetery The funeral services was largely attended and the flowers were beautiful. ----------- OBITUARY Jacob Kingman was born in Star county, Ohio, March 27, 1832 and died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Sarah McCloud, May 14, 1915, aged 83 years, one month and 17 days. When he was two years old his parents moved to Seneca county, O., and in 1854 he moved to Kent county, Michigan In 1880 he came to Odessa township where he resided until his death. His wife passed to the great beyond 43 years ago. Eight children were born to this union, four preceded the father several years ago, leaving the other four to mourn his loss. They are: Jacob E. of Campbell township, David of Odessa, Mrs. Sarah McCloud of Odessa township and Mrs Ellen Bumford of Stanwood. Mr. Klingman had eight brothers and sisters, nine half-brothers and sisters, 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grarandchidren, He has always lived a good life and was loved and respected by all who knew him. His last words were, "Just a little while and I"ll be gone." He called for his beloved wife twice, going home. Those who attended the funeral from away were: his brother's wife Mrs. David Kingman and two sons,Gilbert and Frank Kligman of Gaines, his daughter Mrs. Ellen Bumford, his grandchildren Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Eckart and little daughter from Freeport, Mich. Farewell dear ones, you will miss me, In the home which you prepared, But you look beyond earth's shadows For I"m with the loved ones there. Then you need not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still. Try to trust our Heavenly Father And to do his precious will. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the Rebekah lodge for the beautiful flowers and our neighbors and many friends for their kindness and help throughout the recent illness, death and burial of father.
