Ann street, Saturday morning at about 8:30 o’clock, following a long period of ill health and which had confined him to his bed for the greater part of the past year and during which time everything which kind and loving hands and hearts could do for him was done in an attempt at first to aid in his recovery and later on to give him as much comfort as possible. Mr. Klock was born in Sheridan and came to this city when he was a boy of 16 years. In April of 1895 he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Rivette, of this city and to this union three children were born, Orville, who passed away in 1922 and who was a veteran of the First World war; Mrs. Marvel Daley and Dale Klock, who with the widow, two sisters, Mrs. Robert Peebles and Mrs. Hiram Vincent, and seven grandchildren are left to survive and mourn the loss of a man, who as a family head and a citizen led an exemplary, Christian life. For 20 years he was in the employ of the basket factory as a foreman and for 22 years afterward he was employed by the Belding-Hall Co. in charge of the stock room in their Factory “A.” His friends were legion and were numbered only by the number of people he became acquainted with. The loss of his eldest son, Orville, in death several years after the close of World war one, was a severe blow to him. Mr. Klock was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic church and the Holy Name society of this city and funeral services, in charge of director Al. Cichy, with Rev. Fr. Ralph J. Kelly officiating, were held from the local Catholic church Monday morning at nine o’clock and burial was in St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery by the side of the son who passed away some years ago. Pall bearers at the funeral were George O’Dell, John Wacha, Hubert Engemann, George Martin, Dennis M. Hogan and John Krupp. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/k/klock28090nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
