County News - Thursday, March 8, 1956

Funeral services for A. Fred Klotz, 76, of Portland, was held from Neller 
Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon, March 7, with burial in Portland cemetery. 
Rev. Park Newcombe of the Portland Methodist Church officiated. 

Mr. Klotz died Sunday evening, March 4, in Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, as result 
of a fall February 28 in which he suffered a broken hip.

He was born in Orleans Township and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Klotz. 
He was a member of Portland Methodist Church, DeWitt Clinton Consistory of 
Grand Rapids; Scottish Rite, 32nd degree; Ionia Commandery No. 11, Knights 
Templar; R. & S. M. No. 23 Portland Chapter; R.A.M. No. 39. He was also a 
member of the Masonic Temple Board and former supervisor and clerk of Orange 
Township.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby, and several nieces and nephews.
