Mastoid Trouble Ends Life of West Odessa Farmer. Member of I.O.O.F. and Lake Side Grange Floyd Knapp living west of town was taken to St. Lawrence hospital at Lansing Monday where he died Wednesday morning at 1 o’clock of mastoid trouble. The disease being so far advanced that his life could not be saved. Mr. Knapp was a fine specimen of manhood, always looking so well but sometimes appearances are deceiving as his health, we learn, was not always the best. He as an honored and respected member of Lake Odessa I.O.O.F. and of Lake Side Grange. He was unmarried, living in his father’s home with two other brothers. The father passed away one year ago last January. The funeral has not yet been arranged for. ---- Floyd H. Knapp was born in Odessa Township, Ionia County, Michigan, March 24, 1888, and departed this life at St. Lawrence hospital, Lansing, April 14, 1926, aged 38 years 20 days. He was a kind and loving brother and neighbor, always willing to help when needed. He will be greatly missed by those living in the home. He was a member of the Lake Odessa Odd Fellows of which he took an active part until about two years ago when his health prevented him. He was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Lake Side Grange. He leaves to mourn their loss, six brothers and one sister, namely Cord and Lawrence with whom he lived, John at Lansing, Ernest at Troy, Montana, Wilson and Jesse at Spokane, Washington, Estella Barton of Battle Creek, besides a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services were held from the U. B. church Friday, April 16th, at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. J. A. Blickenstaff, interment in the Lake Side cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Mourer and Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Shroll sang with Miss Verda Gattner at the piano. Those present to attend the funeral from away were Mr. and Mrs. John Knapp and son Arnold and daughters Letha Numhamer and Liles Knapp from Lansing.
