Ionia Daily Standard, 10 May 1906

Mrs. Elma Knapp died suddenly just before noon today.  She has made her home for 
many years with her son, Eugene Knapp, Ionia township.  Her age was 81.  She had 
been feeling badly for some days, but was not regarded as dangerously sick.  She 
died at a moment when it happened nobody was in the room, presumably from heart 
failure.  She was a sister of the late Jerry Spaulding, and Eugene was her only 
child.
