Mr. Knapp had been in increasingly feeble health since the death of his wife about a year ago. Arrangements for the services were waiting word from a son, Verne, in California. Surviving Mr. Knapp are three daughters Mrs. Walter Perrien and Mrs. Alta Newcomb of Ionia, and Mrs. Joseph Dorthy of Bushnell township, and two sons, Fred of Bushnell and Verne of California. Charles Knapp was the first white child born in Bushnell township in Montcalm county. He is survived in addition to his immediate family by eight grandchildren. He was a lifelong resident of Bushnell township until he moved to Palo several years ago. Funeral services will be conducted from the Palo home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. McGinnis of Houghton, officiating. Rev. McGinnis was formerly pastor of the Palo Methodist church.
