Knapp 84, of Pasadena, Calif., died Saturday morning at Upland Community Hospital, Upland, Calif. He and his wife were returning from Arizona Nov. 10, when they were involved in an auto accident. He suffered a skull fracture and never regained consciousness. She was also injured and is still a patient in the same hospital. Mr. Knapp was born in Smyrna, June 19, 1880 and spent his boyhood in Grand Rapids and Belding. He served three years in U.S. Service, soon after 1900. He was connected with the E.J. Knapp Paint Co., manufacturers of Wolverine Elastic Roofing Paint in this city for 25 years. He was a mayor of Belding 1916-17-18 and was a past Worshipful Master of Belding Lodge No. 255 F & A.M. He married Helen Wright here August 14, 1907. They moved to Pasadena, Calif. in 1929 where he engaged in radio business until his retirement. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Luther M. Berry of this city, nieces and nephews. His twin brother died three years ago and two adopted daughters preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Pasadena, Calif., and following cremation, burial was in that city. ---- Correction: In the obituary last week of Clyde A. Knapp, it should have read that his twin brothers, Clifford and Clyde Knapp died three years ago; also Mr. Knap was not a past master of Belding Lodge 355 F & AM but was a member.
