LYONS- Marjorie A. Knapp, 77, of 324 Elizabeth street, died Sunday evening in 
an Ann Arbor hospital following a short illness.

She was born November 16, 1900 in Eaton county, the daughter of Charles and Ida 
Royston.

Ms. Knapp attended Charlotte public schools and married Henry Knapp, June 12, 
1918. They lived in Ionia for 20 years, moving to Lyons in 1949 and farmed land 
south of Palo, selling produce at the Lansing City Market for over 25 years.

She also assisted the Knapp Family singers for 35 years.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Eldon of Ionia; one daughter Mrs. 
Arlene Root of Mulliken, three brothers, Lester and Howard Royston of Charlotte 
and Leo Royston of Vermontville, three sisters, Mrs. Paul Clement and Mrs. 
Melva Clevers of Charlotte and Marie Royston of Lyons; five grandchildren and 
11 great-grandchildren. 

Services are Thursday at 2 pm from the Hull memorial chapel with Rev. Nolan 
Williams of Zion United Methodist church officiating.

Burial is in Tuttle cemetery.
