Her father was one of the early pioneers of Shiawassee county having settled there as early as 1821. Mrs.Knapp was a consistent christian and a member of the U.B. Church of which she was a regular attendant. Her life has been one of usefulness to other and for such there is always a present as well as a future reward. She has two living children by her first husband, Mrs. Alice Montague of this village and Henry Brown of Grand Rapids who were both present at the funeral, also one brother William Miller, of Lowell, her sister Mrs.H.F. Miner and one grandchild Miss Cora Paine. The other relatives present were Mr. and Mrs. Milton Friedly of Sunfield, Mr.and Mrs.Robert Miner of Berlin, and Mrs.Agnes Barber. Funeral services were held Thursday at two o'clock from the U.B. Church; Rev. Ickes officiated with the assistance of Rev. Skentelbury. The floral offerings were numerous and showed the high esteem in which Mrs.Knapp was held by those who knew her. The remains were interred in Lakeside Cemetery.
