                                CLIFFORD H.KNAPP

Clifford H. Knapp, 70, passed away unexpectedly Sunday at his home, 7440 Lincoln 
Lake Rd., Grattan Township.

Mr.Knapp moved to Belding from Grand Rapids when he was two years old and was a 
graduate of Belding High School. He operated his father's business in Belding, 
the E.J. Knapp Paint Co., until 1935 when he moved to Detroit to work in the 
accounting department of Ford Motor Co.. He retired in 1956.

He was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Grand Rapids.

Surviving are his wife, Eva L.; three sons, E.John of Grand Rapids, Bruce C. of 
Adrian and Robert H.of Grosse Pointe Farms; two brothers Clyde of Pasadena, 
Calif. and Clayton H.of Grattan Township a sister, Mrs.Luther Berry of Belding 
and two grandchildren.

Christian Science services were held at 10:30 a.. Wednesday at Eggebeen Chapel 
with Roger J. Price, Christian Science reader, officiating. Burial was in Ashley 
Cemetery, Grattan township.
