The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, July 6, 1954
Lamont Morris Knapp, 88, died Monday evening at 11:48 at the home of his son, 
Henry, in Lyons following a long illness.  He was born January 24, 1866 in 
Kendallville, Indiana, the son of Henry and Esther Knapp, and came to Sunfield 
as a small boy where his father ran a general store.  He had lived in Ionia 
county since 1923 where he worked for many years at the Stout Elevator in 
Ionia.

He was married to Dora Rogers, now deceased, in 1892.  Surviving besides his 
son, Henry, are two daughters, Mrs. Charles Maynard of Lyons and Mrs. Nathan 
Baldwin of Blanchard, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Shaw-Rivett 
funeral home in Muir with the Rev. Herbert E. Wylie of Lyons officiating.  
Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery.
