Knapp, 54, passed away unexpectedly following a short illness. Soon after reporting for work at the Gibson Refrigerator plant Wednesday evening he became ill and was taken to Greenville Memorial hospital where he passed away early Saturday morning. Though he had been in ill health for the past 16 years, he was able to be employed most of the time. Deceased was born in Odessa township November 15, 1890, and had lived on the old homestead until six years ago when he moved to Lake Odessa where they resided until moving to Greenville in March 1943. He was married to Miss Cora Knapp of Odessa on March 26, 1916. He is survived by the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Donald McDiarmid of Greenville, and Mrs. Dale Curtis of Laingsburg; two brothers, Will and Jesse of Spokane, Washington and five granddaughters. Funeral services were held at the Wortley &Baine chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. A. F. Shulls officiating. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
