Eugene Knapp passed away at the family residence, 625 East Main street, this morning at 12:15. Though Mr. Knapp had not been in the best of health for several years, having suffered a stroke of paralysis, death was not expected so soon. Mr. Knapp was born in Schenectady, N.Y., July 26, 1846. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Linna M. Stone Knapp, who is a sister of Orin Stone of this city, and three children, Harry Knapp, of Muir, Allen Knapp, of this city, and Mrs. Herman Hoople, of Muir. Mr. Knapp was a prominent farmer near Muir for many years and came to Ionia to live a little over six and a half years ago. Mr. Knapp was up and about the house yesterday, though his relatives thought that he did not seem quite so well. The funeral will be held from the residence on East Main street, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
