Kneeland Passed Away Thursday Evening Dolphus B. Kneeland, another of Ionia county's pioneers, passed away at 10 o'clock Thursday eve., of neuralgia of the heart, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. W. Merriam, after a painful illness of nearly three weeks. Deceased was 72 years of age and had been a resident of this county for 55 years, coming from the state of New York in 1844. He located on a farm in North Plains. He moved from there to the village of Muir, where he engaged in the mercantile business for a number of years. Later he came to this city, where he has since been an enterprising resident, worthy of the high esteem in which he was held by the community. Mr. Kneeland was a genial, kindly gentleman who made warm friends in his daily intercourse with the world and his death will be regretted by many outside his own immediate family. He leaves besides his wife, one daughter, Mrs. A. W. Merriam, of this city.
