Towner, in that township some time between Thursday night and Friday morning, he having been found dead in his bed Friday morning after having retired Thursday night in his usual health, but which has not been of the best for several years. He was a little over 80 years of age and for many years had been sadly afflicted with a nervous trouble amounting almost to Saint Vitus dance. The immediate cause of his death is pronounced by Dr. Smith, who attended him, to be heart failure. He was born in Niagara county, N.Y., Nov. 16, 1817. When 12 years of age he came with his parents to Jackson county, Michigan, and in….(illegible)…moved to Danby and took up from the government what is now known as the Bah place in Danby. He was twice married but neither of his wives survive him and Mrs. Towner, with whom he has lived several years, being his only child.
