                        Belding Soldier Dies In Vietnam

Word was received Tuesday of the death in Vietnam, February 19 of Martin 
Knight, 19 of Belding.

Death was due to gunshot wounds received while on a combat mission with hostile 
forces.

He was a member of the 506th infantry, 101st airborne division, United States 
army.

Born in Greenville, January 3, 1949, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon 
Knight, who reside at 504 Kiddville road, Belding. 

Surviving besides the parents are a sister, Shelley, 12 years of age; brothers, 
Joseph, 18, and Samuel, 14, at home, and a half brother, James Knight of 
Lakeview. 

A full military service with Fr. Charles Lynch of St. Paul Episcopal church of 
Greenville, officiating.

Upon arrival the body will be at Huffman funeral home in Belding until time of 
service.
