The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, November 7, 1942


Miss Annis Knowles, 87, of 403 Morse street, died Friday afternoon at 2:30 
o’clock after an illness of four months.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. 
and Mrs. Edwin Knowles and had spent most of her life in Ionia.

She was graduated from the Ionia high school and taught in Ionia schools for 
40 years.  She is survived by two brothers, George Knowles and Harry Knowles, 
both of Ionia, a nephew, George Jr., of Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Boynton 
funeral home.  Rev. F. G. Dunbar of the First Methodist church will officiate 
and burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
