The death of Mrs. Mattie Knudsen, aged 69 years, took place at her farm home in 
Eureka township, shortly after noon, on Wednesday of last week and followed an 
illness of five weeks duration.  Mrs. Kundsen was born at Bath, this state, on 
February 22, 1867, but had resided in the vicinity north of this city for many 
years.  In 1923 she was united in marriage to Jens Knudsen, this being her 
second marriage and the union continued until the death of Mr. Knudsen in 
September of last year.  Of the five children who survive the mother, only one, 
John M. Fisher, remained at home.  There are also four sisters, Clara Conkrite, 
Sadie Bascom, Nellie Parks and Mamie Burns, all residing in or near Sunfield, 
this state.  Funeral services were held at the late home in Eureka township, on 
Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Hubert S. Ellis, formerly of this city, now of 
Alma, officiating and burial was in Otisco cemetery.
