Koch, 63, died about midnight Wednesday at Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids after a serious illness of two weeks. He had suffered a heart attack at the home of his sister, Mrs. Chauncy Antcliff, Hall street, about two weeks ago and Tuesday of this week, was removed to Butterworth hospital. He had been spending the summer at the Antcliff cottage at Long lake when he was taken ill. Born April 9, 1879, he was the son of John and Christine Koch of Ionia. He lived in Ionia until he was 19 and then spent several years traveling through the southern states. About 28 years ago, he made his home in Grand Rapids where he was employed as a linotype operator by the Grand Rapids Herald for three years and for the past 25 years by the Grand Rapids Press. He was married September 15, 1915, to Adeline Hamton of Batavia, New York, who survives him. He is also survived by a son, George Parker Koch, of New Kessington, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Mrs. Reeves Simms, Jr., and Miss Jeannette Koch, both of Grand Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Lula Antcliff of Ionia. A brother, Fred M. Cook, a former Ionia County clerk, preceded him in death two years ago while living in Florida. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at Grand Rapids and graveside services will be conducted at 11:15 am Saturday at Oakhill cemetery in Ionia.
