She had been considered better since Saturday, but a sudden change for the worse came Monday afternoon, death following within a few minutes. She was a native of Wurtenburg, Germany, and came to this country when 17, and had lived here the greater part of the time since. Her husband, the late John Koch, who died 12 years ago, was a stone mason by trade, and much of the beautiful work in Ionia and vicinity done with the [unreadable word] of this locality remain as a monument to his workmanship. For a short time while there was a scarcity of work in his trade Mr. and Mrs. Koch lived on a farm at Remus, but aside from that short period of time she had lived since her marriage in the home where she died. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Lulu Antcliff, deputy county clerk; Fred M. Cook, of Detroit, and George P. Koch, of Grand Rapids, and a brother, Jacob Wurster, of Ionia. She was of the Lutheran faith, and Rev. H.B. Succop will preside at the services to be conducted at the home, 564 Hall street, Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery.
