Kochensparger, 88, of Palo, died Monday morning at Brown Nursing Home. He was born on August 20, 1895, the son of Abraham and Jennie Douglas Kochensparger in Ashley, Michigan. He married Bessie Dougherty in Ashley on October 7, 1916. He farmed in Gratiot County until 1925 when he and Bessie moved to Ionia County where he continued farming until 1961, when he retired. For four years before he retired he drove the Palo school bus. After retirement, he and his wife did extensive traveling and camping in upper Michigan and lower Michigan. The later years were spent in Six Lakes. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Jennie Ludwick of Muir, Mildred Esche of Rainbow Lake and Olive Petersen of Perrington, five grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great-grand child, one sister, Mrs. Eunice Nickols of East Tawas; one daughter preceded him in death in 1924. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hall Memorial Chapel in Muir. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery.
