Lance M. Koelsch aged 58 of Ionia, passed away January 18, 2007.  He was born 
March 4, 1948 in Standish, MI, the son of Kenneth and Erna (Pekrul) Koelsch.  
He married Karen Hecht December 7, 1973 in Ionia.  He was a member of St. 
John’s Lutheran Church. He worked for Commission on Aging before retiring.   
Lance loved being around the house with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Kay Koelsch of Ionia; children 
Gene and Jennifer Koelsch of Lyons and Tina and Michael Hooper of Saranac; 
brother Kendall and Marion Koelsch of Juneau Alaska; grandchildren Carissa, 
Corey, Jessica, Jeffrey, Jenna, Tiffany and Steffany.  He is preceded in death 
by one son Lance Jr. and one brother Philip.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. John ‘s Lutheran Church 
in Ionia with Pastor David Bogda officiating. The family will receive friends 
and relatives 2-4 and 7-8:30 Sunday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Anyone 
wishing to make memorial contributions to Ionia Commission on Aging or St. 
John’s Lutheran Church.
