Lucile Marian Kohloff aged 80 of Ionia passed away November 1, 2006. She was 
born January 11, 1926 in Ionia, MI the daughter of James George and Fern ( 
Connor) Gallagher.   She married Charles Kohloff May 2, 1947. He preceded her 
in death in 2004.

Lucile will be remembered with fondness and love as a loyal friend, devoted 
wife, and loving mother and grandmother. She directed her love of sports and 
the outdoors to all aspects of her life- including her career as a physical 
education teacher, first mate on her husband’s sail boat “Fortitude” , and as 
the number one fan of her grandchildren in all of their pursuits. We will miss 
her laugh, were awed by her strength, and inspired by her dignity through all 
things.

She is survived by her children; Teresa and Harvey Klifman of Alma, Sheila 
Hughs of Virginia, Janet and Timothy Cordes of Indiana and Daniel and Sandra 
Kohloff of Sturgis; sisters Mildred Sawyer of Florida and Phyllis Millard of 
Sheridan; sister in law Bonnie (Kohloff) Hadder of Ionia; grandchildren Emily 
and Dale Wojcik, Kara and Scott Eldridge, Trisha and Shawn Alpers, Annette 
Haas, Dustin Hughs, Elle Cordes , Emma Cordes and Molly Cordes; great 
grandchildren Bryce Alpers and Bryee Alpers.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday at First United Methodist 
Church in Ionia, with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. The family will receive 
friends and relatives 10:00 A.M. prior to the service at the church. In lieu 
of flowers please direct gifts to the Chuck & Lucile Scholar-Athlete 
Scholarship fund, Ionia High School, 364 E. Tuttle, Ionia, Michigan 48846.
