Jan. 31, 1961 Lucy A. Kohn, 72, died suddenly at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday at her home at 217 South Bridge Street, Belding. She was born in Otisco Township June 26, 1888 and had lived in the Belding area all her life. Miss Kohn worked for the Citizens Telephone Company which later merged with Michigan Bell Telephone Company. She retired in 1953 after 46 years of service with the two companies working both as an operator and in the business office at Belding. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rosary society. She belonged to the Michigan Bell Pioneer Telephone association, and was a member of the Monday club, New Idea Club and Blue Elm club. She had also been active in Red Cross work. Since 1941 Miss Kohn had made her home with Kathleen Maloney, Ionia county Treasurer. She is survived by a brother, George Kohn of Palo and 16 nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday a St. Joseph church in Belding with the Rev. Fr. Charles E. Steves officiating; Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Huffman funeral home in Belding.
