Bearers were Carl Fox, Jr., and Joseph Fox of Lansing and Robert Fox, Joseph Fox, Jr., Julius Fox and Homer Edwards, Jr., of Ionia. Mrs. Konen died at St. Lawrence hospital Saturday at 2:30 a.m. following a short illness. She was born Bertha Fox in Pewamo May 31, 1890. She had been a resident of Ionia for 22 years, moving to Lansing in 1934. Bertha and Walter Konen were married forty years. During their residence in Ionia they lived on both State Road and Baldie street. She was a former member of SS. Peter and Paul church and of the Rosary society. Survivors are the husband, Walter, three sons, Jacob and Fred of Lansing; and Joseph of Battle Creek; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Zinke, Mrs. Lyle Thurber and Mrs. Jack Hudson, all of Lansing; 19 grandchildren; seven brothers, William Fox of Detroit; Andrew of Pewamo, Joseph of Ionia and Carl, Herman, Matt and Theodore of Lansing; and two sisters, Mrs. Homer Edwards Sr., and Mrs. Vern Peabody of Ionia. A brother, Henry Fox, of Ionia preceded her in death two weeks ago.
