Nov. 8, 1907 John Blasen went to Grand Rapids last Friday to see his sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles Konkle, who was run over by Grand Trunk freight train at that place, Wednesday afternoon. With her niece she was driving across the railroad near Fuller station, and the carriage was struck by engine when squarely across the track, the occupants being thrown out. The engine wheels passed over Mrs. Konkle, crushing left arm was amputated at shoulder. A phone message last evening said that she was resting easily, and the doctors gave some home of recovery. Mrs. Konkle is a sister of the late A. H. Geck, and the last survivor of the family. (Later- Mrs. Konkle died later in the day.)
