Kosbar, 80, of 1403 East State Street, Hastings, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday in Pennock hospital at Hastings. He had been a patient about two weeks. Mr. Kosbar was born March 11, 1878 in Germany and came to Ionia with his mother and family when he was 11 years old. His father died in Germany. He worked at the Pere Marquette carshops in Ionia 35 years and until his retirement in 1931. He moved to Hastings from Augusta in 1933, where he was a resident and former owner of a restaurant and bakery until 1944. Surviving are his wife, Jessie; two sons, Alfred of Benton Harbor, and Edward of Cascade; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Rentschler of Lansing, Mrs. Hilda Everetts of Lake Odessa, and Mrs. Jeanette Viegler of route one, Hastings; a stepson, Walter Roop of Hastings; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Leonard funeral home at Hastings by the Rev. O. H. Treinklein. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery at Ionia.
