He was born June 1, 1928 in Ionia, the son of Lorenz and Mildred Craft Kosbar. He married Donnal Englerth on August 16, 1957 at Quimby Methodist Church, Hastings. Together they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Don was employed with the Barry County Road Commission for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He farmed his own land for 37 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hastings. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and traveling with his wife in their motor home. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenz and Mildred Kosbar; stepfathers, Claude Gross and Sidney Hull; half sisters, Joann and Rachel; and granddaughter, Mardan. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Kosbar; sons, Danny and Ruth Kosbar, Damon Kosbar, all of Hastings, David and Terri Kosbar of Grand Ledge, Darwin and Donna Kosbar of Delton, Donald and Kim Kosbar of Lowell, Dean and Renee Kosbar of Hastings; daughters, Deanna and Mark Case of Greenville, Denise and Greg Miller of Freeport; sisters, Betty and Tom Kidder of Hastings, Pauline and Victor Orsborn of Caledonia; half brothers, Lloyd and Bess Gross, Stewart and Diane Gross, all of Hastings; half sisters, Glenda and Dennis Stevens, Joyce and Earl Stevens, all of Hastings; stepbrother, Gordon Hull of Hastings; stepsister, Genevieve and Howard Allen, Mary Ann and Jim Hummel, all of Nashville; 32 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Hastings, with the Rev. Dan Curry and the Rev. Ken Garner officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to the Don Kosbar Youth Memorial Fund.
