He had been ill the past year. Born in Ionia May 21, 1905, he was the son of Herman and Bertha Kosbar. He attended the St. Johns Lutheran and Ionia high schools. May 16, 1928, he was married in Muir to the former Helen Rice. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Ionia, life member of the Elks lodge and present member of the Ionia board of review. He retired October 1, 1970 after being employed 35 years at Marshall Wright Lumber Company of Ionia. Among his survivors are his wife, Helen, and a sister, Hattie Kosbar of Ionia. Funeral services with Rev. Harold Johnson officiating will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Kauffman-Doughty funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Memorials have been established for the American Cancer society and the First Presbyterian church. Contributions may be left at the funeral home. Subsequent Publication: Tuesday December 10, 1974 Funeral services for Oswald Kosbar who died Friday were Monday with Rev. Harold Johnson officiating. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Bearers were Charles Booth, Arch Wright Jr., Frank Powers, Ty Conklin, Lawrence Lemmen and Leo McAlary. Honorary bearers were Leo Fuller, Gerald Lucas and Robert Coover. A lunch was served to the family at the First Presbyterian church following services.
