VERNON KOUTZ, Two more families were made deeply sorrowful last Sunday morning when Mrs. Cleora Haight Koutz was found dead by her mother. Mrs. Fred Haight at their home west of town, where she had gone to spend a week with her people. Mrs. Koutz's sisters and brothers were home having come from Detroit and Lansing on a visit and the family were having a visit into the late night, the mother occasionally going to the bed where her daughter lay who ws not very well. At about mid-night she was about to give her some medicine when finding her asleep she left her. Not wishing to molest her she was not again disturbed until an early hour where she was found to be dead. She was known by many in this village. she was the wife of Vernon Koutz, living northeast of the village. Her health began to fall about two years ago but he thought to be getting better. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the many relatives, friends, neighbors and societies for their kindness and sympathy and floral tributes at the death of our dear wife, daughter and sister, Cleora. We also thank the singers and Rev. Blickenstaff for his words of sympathy. VERNON KOUTZ DIES WHILE SLEEPING AT THE HOME OF HER PARENTS, MR. AND MRS. FRED HAIGHT OBITUARY Cleora Haighto-Koutz, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Fred Haight was born February 27, 1897, in Odessa township and passed away January 23, 1927, at the home of her parents., aged 29 years, 10 months and 27 days. She finished school in Lake Odessa being a graduate in the class of 1915. She was united in marriage to Vernon Koutz March 8, 1922, and since then they have lived with his parents on their farm northeast of town. She joined the United Brethren church early in life and has always been a faithful worker and was loved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn their loss, her failing health. Her death was a great shock to all as she was very hopeful of her recovery up to the last. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, father, mother, five brothers, Carlyle who is her twin, Clyde, Galen and Artie, all of Detroit, Percy at home and two sisters Pauline and Thera of Lansing, besides a lot of relatives and friends. Plucked like a flower in best bloom. To brighton the land beyond reach of the limb; Oh, how we miss you,Cleora, but why should we grieve? Only a little while longer and we too must leave. We do not forget you, nor do we intend; We think of you dearly, and will to the end. It's sad, but 'tis true, we cannot tell why. The best are the first who are called to dies. The funeral services were held Tuesday, January 25, at 2 p.m., in the U.B. church, conducted by her pastor, in the presence of a very large congregation of neighbors, friends and relatives. (to know her was but to love her); after which the body was tenderly laid to rest in the Lakeside cemetery, there to await the Resurrection at the coming of her Lord.
