          MRS. A. J. KOUTZ DIED AT HER HOME FEB. 19

               LIVED IN IONIA COUNTY ALL HER LIFE. 

                WAS A DEVOTED WIFE AND MOTHER.

                                  -------------

                                    OBITUARY

   Aletha M., daughter of Philip and Mariette Yaw, was born in Ionia township,
Michigan, April 10, 1859, and 
died February 19, 1928, at her farm home in Odessa at the age of 68 years, 10 months
and 9 days.

   October 3, 1883, she was united in marriage to Andrew J. Koutz.  To this union
were born three children, 
Mattie M., who passed away at the age of three months, Vernon W. of Odessa and Mrs.
A. J. Ireman of Ann 
Arbor.

   With the husband, two children and one grandson, she leaves one sister, Mrs.
Caroline Prosser of Oregon 
and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.  She was a kind
companion and a living 
mother, who will be greatly missed in the home.

   A loving one from us has gone,

   A voice we loved is stilled

   A place is vacant in our home

     That never can be filled.

   The funeral was held Tuesday at the Carr church Rev.           Clark of the
Wesleyan church preached and Mr. 
and Mrs. George Goodemoot sang.  Burial was at Lakeside cemetery.

   We wish to thank the neighbors and friends for their kindness and help during the
illness and death of our 
wife and mother.  Also the singers and the minister for his words of comfort.
