All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Patricia Currigan currigan1932@comcast.net November 21, 2022, 9:08 am Lake O.Wave-Times Friday September 9, 1921 A TRUE CHRISTIAN PASSES TO ETERNAL HOME Mrs.Nancy Koutz, a pioneer of this section and for many years a resident died Saturday Mrs.Koutz, when she grew feeble, went to live with her son, Mr.and Mrs.Lincoln Culp, just north of town and for several years through her extreme feebleness, has not been able to leave her home. In her former years she was found at the post of every duty and led an active life. OBITUARY Mrs. Nancy Koutz was born in Ohio May 10, 1832. She was married in 1850 to Henry Culp, who died in 1891. To this union were born ten children, four of whom survive: Lincoln Culp,at whose home she died, Mrs.Emma Cross of Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs.Ida Lapham, Lake Odessa, and Mr.David Culp, Ingleside, Nebraska. In 1900 she was married to George Koutz, who died in 1911. Mrs.Koutz was a charter ember of the M.E. church at which place the funeral was held Monday. The sermon was preached by Rev. A.H. Lash of the Congregational church, the pastor, Rev. Nagier, being out of town at the time of the arrangements, but being present at the funeral, he read the scripture and obituary and offered prayer.Music was by members of the church choir. Interment was in Lakeside in the family lot.
