He was born in Budapest, Hungary, November 18, 1880, and married in Hungary in 1904. He came to the United States in 1905 and his wife and first child followed in 1906 at which time they made their home in Youngstown, Ohio. They moved to Fowler, then to Ionia, to Florida and back to Ionia in 1916 and lived here since. He learned the milling trade in Hungary on the Danube river but worked in Ionia as a car repair man for the Pere Marquette car shops and its successor, Chesapeake and Ohio railroad. He retired from there in 1953. His wife died in 1939. Surviving are two sons, Joseph of Ludington and Albert of Morrison lake; two daughters, Mrs. William Rider of Stanton and Mrs. Sam Conner of Ionia; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Boynton-Leddick funeral home. Rev. A.R. Gallert of St. Johns Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
