Fr. Joseph Henige officiating. Urban Simon, Pau Luttig, Philip Klein and Joseph Bower were the bearers. Little Mark met his death Saturday night, June 3, when he was fatally injured when kicked by a horse. He had been following his father, who was plowing in a field nearby, and appeared to have lost his way, and walked into a pasture lot. A posse of friends and neighbors led by Sheriff Jack Barnes of St. Johns searched the area for house, the search finally ending when the family dog, a collie, led them to the body. The family lives on the William Bower farm, northeast of Pewamo in Clinton County. Mark was born July 25, 1941, and is survived by his parents, a five-months-old sister, Marie; by his maternal grandfather, Tony Miller and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Bertram.
