Ionia Sentinel Standard - March 2000


Mr. Frederick W. Koyish, 52, of Lyons, passed away unexpectantly March 23, 
2000. He was born the son of John and Esther (Tafel) Koyish on April 22, 1947 
in Ionia.

He graduated from Ionia High School in 1965 and attended Ferris State 
University. He married the former Suzanne Struble on Nov. 30, 1968. He worked 
for 36 years at General Motors in Lansing. He served for two years in Korea on 
the DMZ in the US Army. He was a member of the Lyons VFW Post #4646.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Suzanne; two daughters, Heather (Paul) 
McQueen of Sheridan and Nichole (John) Nummer of Ionia; three grandchildren, 
Bryant, Bryce and Alexandrea; two brothers, John (Chong Ae) Koyish of Georgia 
and James (Christine) Koyish of Ionia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the 
Cook Funeral Home in Ionia with the Rev. Kenneth Harger from the Shiloh 
Community Church officiating. Interment in Muir Cemetery.

Visiting hours are from 7 until 8:30 p.m. today and 12 noon until 2 p.m. 
Saturday at the Rich St. Chapel of Cook Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established for the wishes of the Koyish family in care of 
Cook Funeral Home.
