Kramer, 78, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Charles was born on June 28, 1927, in Grand Rapids, the son of Frank and Edna Gilbert Kramer. He served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1969 during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Charles was very proud of his long and distinguished military service to his country. The biggest love of Charles’s life were his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed all of the grandkids’ sporting events and being a grandpa. Charles also enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He was married on June 14, 1980 to Marye Anne Knapp in Grand Rapids. Charles is preceded by his parents and a son, Kris Kramer. He is survived by his wife, Marye Anne; children, Steve and Cindy Aley, Leigh Anne and Allen Sias, all of Cedar Springs, Tim and Gerri Aley of Rockford; grandchildren, Zachary, Cassandra, Jacob, Joshua, Jennessa, Rodney, Sarah, Renee; and brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Delores Kramer of Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Bruce Wilson of Plainfield Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
