Kramer, 76, of Portland, died Sunday, March 14, 1999. He was born January 3, 1923 in Dallas Township, the son of John A. and Anna (Schneider) Kramer. Mr. Kramer was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Portland, K of C Council #2168, Portland VFW Post #4090, and the Portland Country Club. He retired in 1983 from TRW after 30-plus years of service and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn T. (Smith) in 1994, and a brother, Paul. Survivors include four daughters, Joyce G. (James De Sault) Kramer of Kalamazoo, Diane L. (Mark) Huyck of Lake Odessa, Colleen H. (Rockwell Ludden) Kramer of South Yarmouth, Mass., and Roseann (James) Marlatt of Mulliken; three sons, Dale (Carol) of Portland, Larry D. of Mason, and David (Mary) of Portland; brother, Gerald Kramer of Montrose; two sisters, Geneva (Isadore) Wohlscheid of Pewamo and Josetta (Donald) Ott of St. Johns; and 12 grandchildren. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, March 18, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 140 Church St., Portland, with Rev. Father Chris W. Rouech, associate pastor, officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow in Portland Cemetery, Portland. Friends may call at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Neller Chapel, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland, beginning 6 p.m. today. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The Rosary will be provided by the Portland K of C Council #2168, Tuesday at 8 p.m. and Wednesday at 3 p.m. The scripture Wake is at 8 p.m. Those desiring may make donations to the Father Flohe Foundation of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in memory of Matthew.
