Portland Observer – Thursday, 14 February 1935
George Krausz, 80, died Tuesday evening at the home of his son, Eben Krausz, 
north of town, following an illness of a number of weeks.

Mr. Krausz was born in New Jersey and came to this community when 20 years of 
age.  Fifty-two years ago he was married to Grace Liverton, who passed away 
August 8, 1929.  For many years the couple resided on a farm west of town, 
eighteen years ago moving to this village, making their home on the north 
hill.  After the death of his wife Mr. Krausz lived there alone until last 
November when owing to ill health he was taken to the home of his son, to be 
cared for.  He had been confined to bed during the past four weeks.

Besides the son at whose home his death occurred he is survived by one 
brother, Edward Krausz, of New Jersey.

Funeral services will be held at the home on the north hill Saturday afternoon 
at 2 o’clock in charge of Rev. John H. Stewart, with burial in Portland 
cemetery.
