Knox farm a half mile west of Collins. Mrs. Krausz and the two children were alone in the house when the accident occurred. Mr. Krausz was working in one of the nearby farm buildings and his attention was attracted toward the house by hearing screams. A passerby, William Filwock, who works on the Grant Keefer farm, also heard the screams, both reaching the yard at the same time. The frantic woman had rushed from the house and thrown herself to the ground in an attempt to extinguish her burning clothing. Reaching her side the two men tore away her clothing and carried the victim into the house. Dr. T. K. Brown was summoned and found her body deeply burned from hand to knees. In rolling on the ground her burning clothing set fire to the dry grass which for a time threatened the house and other buildings. Mrs. Krausz was born in Orange township in 1909, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Sandborn. She was married to Mr. Krausz in 1930. Besides the husband two sons survive, one six months old and the other two years. Seven brothers also survive, Lawrence and Herbert Sandborn, of Duluth; Melbourn, Raymond, Riley, Jacob and Allen Sandborn, all residing in the vicinity of Portland. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Sebewa Methodist church. Burial was made in Danby cemetery.
