Ionia Sentinel Standard, 4 & 7 Nov 1966

Mrs. Mary P. Krellwitz, 88, of 220 North Dexter street died at Ionia County
Memorial hospital Thursday afternoon.  

She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, rosary society, St. Rita
and rosary circle 1 and was also a charter member of Daughters of Isabella
serving as chancellor for many years.

Born March 7, 1878 in Houghton she was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Tino
Peters.  October 20, 1902 she married Otto F. Krellwitz in Houghton and they
moved to Ionia in 1921.  He died April 15, 1945.

She is survived by a son, Frank Krellwitz of Flint; six daughters, Mrs. Aloysia
James, Mrs. Helen Cox, Mrs. Mattie Caswell of Ionia, Mrs. Katherine Schafer of
Detroit and Mrs. Genevieve Brownley of Palham, N.Y.; four brothers, Henry Lenz
of Newberry, Joseph Lenz of Houghton and Theodore and John Lenz of Detroit; a
sister, Sister Mary Bernadette of Superior, Wis., 17 grandchildren and six great
grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at Myers funeral home Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. 
Daughters of Isabella will also recite rosary Friday evening at 8 o’clock. 
Funeral mass will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church
with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Funeral services were Saturday at 9 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul church for Mrs.
Mary P. Krellwitz.  The Daughters of Isabella attended the services as a group.
 Bearers were Harry Gemuend, Raymond and Ronald Burrows, Howard Hawkins, Harry
Allen and Forest Robillard.

Mrs. Krellwitz was preceded in death by her husband Otto and a son Theodore.

Friends and relatives attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. Francis Schafer of
Detroit, Mrs. Genevieve Brownley of Pelham, NY, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Krellwitz,
Chris and Mary Eileen and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Krellwitz of Flint, James
Krellwitz of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Timothy Dorch of Louisville, Ky., Mr. and Mrs.
Jerry Pryne and Philip James of Grand Rapids, John M. Lenz of Battle Creek and
John and Theodore Lenz of Detroit.
