Leaves Husband and Host of Friends. Another loyal resident of Lake Odessa and a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church, passed away at her home here last Friday afternoon. She had been ill only a short time of pneumonia, which developed from a cold of about two weeks. She had a large acquaintance of loyal friends as was shown by the attendance at her funeral. She, previous to her marriage, had often been employed as a clerk in dry goods stores here where she was greatly admired for her genial accommodating spirit. For many years she has been identified in the work and worship of Central Methodist church, where she has been an earnest worker. Her home here has been open to church activities and she has always had the loyal support of her husband in all Christian efforts. Mr. Krieger has the sympathy of many friends in the loss of his loyal wife whose companionship meant so much to him. Obituary. Delila Jane Bever, the fourth child of William and Sarah Bever, was born on the farm three miles north of Lake Odessa, January 7, 1867, and passed out of this life Friday afternoon, May 26, 1933, aged 66 years, four months and 19 days. Her last sickness lasted but a few days, and she was gone before many of her friends realized the seriousness of her condition. With the exception of brief residences in Lowell and Alto Mrs. Krieger’s entire life was lived in this community. Her life has been well lived. She lived for others, and was abundant with good works. She allied herself to great causes and participated in them actively. The Church of Christ, the great Woman’s Missionary organization of her church, the Ladies Aid, the Sunday school., and other worthy causes claimed her interest and devotion. She was converted to Christ in her girlhood and united with the West Odessa United Brethren church. Later, in 1894, upon moving to Lake Odessa, she became a member of Central Methodist church. August 10, 1915, she was united in marriage to Louis Krieger. A beloved wife, a loving sister, a true friend to a large number who greatly esteemed her, a gracious Christian lady, Mrs. Krieger will be greatly missed: Her life here seems too soon ended; we would that she might have remained longer with us. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Maria Gilliland, Mrs. Gertrude Karcher, and Alvin H. Bever, all of Lake Odessa. The funeral service was held at Central Methodist church and was largely attended, Monday afternoon, May 29, and burial was at Lakeside cemetery. Rev. A. T. Cartland officiated. The hymns were sung by Mrs. W. C. McCartney and Mrs. M. M. Armstrong. Those from away to attend the funeral of Mrs. Krieger were: Mrs. Jack Knight, Mrs. Rose Lowrey, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schuknecht and Mrs. J. O’Connor and Miss Josephine Abfalter of Kalamazoo; Mr. and Mrs. J. Abfalter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest York and family, and Mrs. Fern Carrothers and children, Frank and Audrey, of Grand Rapids; Walter Hubbard of Saranac, and Mr. and Mrs. F. Abfalter and family of Ionia.
