Ionia Sentinel Standard - March 2010


Marlene Mary Kruger, 64, of Lake Odessa, passed away peacefully on Monday 
afternoon, March 8, 2010, and is at Home with her Lord.

He was born in Lake Odessa on May 2, 1945, to Art and Mabel (Chump) VandeCar. 
Marlene was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School. For the past 15 years she 
had been employed at Magna Donnley.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Debbie Calderon; grandchildren, Megan and 
Eric V. Bartlett, Drew Daniels and Stephanie Reid and Alicia Salinas; great 
grandchildren, Britany, Hunter, Eric, Duane and Keith Bartlett; sister-in-law, 
Alice (Ken) Forshey-Luscher; three special nephews, Brett, David and Daniel 
VandeCar; great nieces, Shelbie Jo and Courtney; and great nephew, Cole. She 
was preceded in death by her parents, and her older brother, David VandeCar. 

A memorial gathering and luncheon will be held at Cunningham’s Acre in Lake 
Odessa from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2010. A time to share special 
memories will begin at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be
