The services will be in charge of Rev. George H. Johnson of Paw Paw. Burial will be in the Muir cemetery. Grandsons Gerald Smith, Floyd Waters, Earl Kruger, Kenneth Kruger, Clifford Ross, and Marion Kruger, will act as pallbearers. Mr. Kruger was born in Germany 80 years ago. When a small boy he came with his parents from the old country and settled near Detroit. When John was eight years old his parents shifted their home from the vicinity of Detroit to Fowler, then a vast area of timber. Later on one of those plots of timber became the home of John and his bride as they began housekeeping nearly 58 years ago. For 13 years Mr. Kruger served Dallas township as highway commissioner and during this period he supervised the erection of three bridges over Stoney Creek. He was affiliated with the German Lutheran church and years ago assisted in building and maintaining the denomination of Fowler. Twenty-three years ago he sold his farm at Fowler and purchased the farm in North Plains township that belonged to William Bambor…(portion illegible). This he owned at the time of his death. It was occupied by a son, Leonard Kruger and family.
