Margaret S. Kuehn, 99, of Ionia died Monday, Sept. 30, 1996 at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital, 25 days before reaching her 100th birthday.  She was born 
October 24, 1896 in Swanton, Ohio, the daughter of John and Elsie Mills 
Billings, and was educated in Ohio schools.  She was married to the Rev. 
August Kuehn in 1917 in Whitford, Mich.

Many years of her life were spent with her husband in various pastorates, 
including Lake Odessa, Niles, Ionia, Snover, Saginaw, Pontiac, Capac and 
Benton Harbor E.U.B. churches.

She is survived by two sons, Paul (Martha Lou) Kuehn of Oakridge, Tenn. and 
James Kuehn of Niles; one daughter, Phyllis (Al) Reisbig of Ionia; daughter-in-
law, Ruth Kuehn of Niles; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 14 
great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. 
August Kuehn, in 1969 and one son, John, in 1991.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, 1996 at 1 p.m. at Zion 
United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Adams officiating.  Interment will be 
in Balcom Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 
from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rich Street Chapel of Cook Funeral Home in 
Ionia.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church 
with envelopes available at the church or at the Cook Funeral Home.
