Ionia Sentinel Standard - Mon. Nov. 22, 1937


Louis H. Kuhtz, 64, died at the Ionia hospital Saturday evening, November 20th 
after an illness of the past several months. He was taken to the hospital a 
week ago where he underwent an operation for gland trouble.

He was born in 1873, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kuhtz and was a resident 
of Orange township and Ionia County most of his life. In October 21, 1896, he 
was married to Miss Cora George who with five children survives him. In 1936 he 
made his home in Orange Township which was formerly the home of his brother, 
the late Charles Kuhtz.

Survivors are his wife, five children, Forrest, William and Ronald of Ionia, 
Leon of Detroit and Mrs. E.M. Murley of Detroit, one sister, Mrs. Katherine 
Taylor of Orange Township, and three grandchildren, Forest Murley, Betty Jean 
Kuhtz and Jo Ann Katherine Kuhtz of Ionia. Another son, Charles Kuhtz died in 
1919.

Funeral services will be held from the home in Orange Township Tuesday 
afternoon, November 23, at 2 O’clock. Rev. Kenneth Griswold pastor of the 
LeValley church will conduct the services.
