The Ionia Daily Standard, Monday, October 20, 1902


Catherine, widow of the late Charles Kuhtz, one of the old and most highly 
regarded residents of Orange township, died at the farm home where she had 
lived so long, at 7 o’clock on Sunday evening, at the age of 76 years—that is, 
she would have attained 76 on Christmas day, next.  The husband preceded her to 
the better land some 12 years.  Three sons and three daughters survive the 
truly good mother, whose funeral will be on Wednesday, at 1 o’clock at the 
house, and at 2 o’clock at the Orange brick church.  Geo. Kuhtz, of the firm of 
Taft & Kuhtz, this city, is one of the sons.
